Cash & Income
How Dig & Clean cash works—museum generation, sell station surplus, and gear reinvestment without exploit farms.
Keep vs sell: sell or museum. Spend: gear shop.
Cash is Dig & Clean’s progression currency. Multi-source guides describe two main sources: museum tourist income from displayed antiques, and selling surplus finds at the sell station near the gear shop.
Cash buys detectors, shovels, and cleaners, and funds the pirate travel unlock for the second map. Scripts are not required—see auto farm status.
Income sources
| Source | How it works | Page |
|---|---|---|
| Museum tourists | Placed finds generate ongoing cash | Museum · Sell or museum |
| Sell station | One-time cash for surplus items | Sell or museum |
| Better finds | Higher rarity/value after clean | Rarity · Items |
Museum cash
Placing antiques in the museum attracts tourists that generate cash. Early game: fill empty slots. Mid game: replace low generators with higher-value cleaned finds.
Museum slots are limited—priority matters. Systems: museum · decisions: sell or museum.
Selling surplus
- Sell after cleaning so you know value
- Do not sell unique keepers you still need for museum income
- Sold items are typically unrecoverable—decide carefully
- Liquid cash funds gear shop upgrades
Cash loop
- 1. Detect + dig. Prioritize diggable mid/high glows.
- 2. Clean. Reveal at cleaning station.
- 3. Place or sell. Museum income vs liquid cash.
- 4. Upgrade. Spend into bottleneck tools.
- 5. Repeat. Raise income until map travel is affordable.
